Bishop’s Stortford pair’s puzzle for Parkinson’s raises thousands

Neville Mizen and Marian Stringer, from Bishop’s Stortford, have raised over £13,000 for the charity Parkinson’s UK after organising a cryptic quiz.

The duo have been supporting different charities with their quizzes since 1993, and over the years have raised more than £500,000 for a range of national and local causes.

Neville and Marian decided to support Parkinson’s UK as they know people affected by the condition.

The puzzle for Parkinson’s had a treasure hunt theme and people were sent the clues by post. There were over 1,000 entries from all over the country and abroad.

Participants paid £1 for the quiz entry fee, with many generously donating more to the charity.

Becky Redbond, Regional Fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK, said:

“Thank you so much to Neville and Marian for choosing to support Parkinson’s UK with their quiz. The money raised will allow Parkinson’s UK to continue with its vital research work to find a cure, and improve the lives of the 145,000 people living in the UK who are affected by Parkinson’s.”
